Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to receive a score of a perfect of 10 points in the Olympic event. Bela Karalyi came across Comaneci at the age of six. She would later become the Romanian gymnastics coach. The first time she competed was at the National Junior Championships which she finished 13th in the year 1969. In 1970, Comaneci took home the title. In 1972, at a meet of communist countries junior athletes before the Olympics she was awarded 3 gold and silver medals. After that, in 1973 and 1974, she became the junior champion in all aspects. When she competed for the first time as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning four gold medals as well as one silver. The year was 1976 when she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also became the first woman ever to remove the parallel bars with a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her journey in the world of entertainment began in her teens when she began skating figure along with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol was a part of the entertainment business during her teenage years. She started her career performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performance.
