Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou in Beaumont Puy De Domme, France was born on the 9th August, 1976. Audrey Tautou is an oldest child of four. Her parents, a dentist and a teacher recognised and supported her love of theatre and drama from a young age which superseded an initial desire to be a primatologist due to her passion for monkeys. The actress became famous as a child actor quickly and achieved great achievement. After completing her education, she was selected to participate in Jeunes Premiers, a French TV talent-scouting programme which was run by Canal+. There she was awarded the prize for the Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. It was this that led her to begin her acting profession. Though she was a student at the Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou has distanced herself from the Catholic tradition, saying that she's not Catholic. In addition to her acting work, she also pursued modelling. She was the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and was dubbed "The Chanel Muse". In the past, during the Arles Arts Festival, she showed the collection of her photographs with the title Superficial. Her work is focused on celebrities and fame. Also, it features portraits of herself and particular focus on the media that has scrutinised Tautou since her meteoric success following Amelie. Audrey Tautou's worldwide recognition and popularity exploded after her appearance as Amelie Poulain's lead actress in the film Le Fabuleux Destin in the film d'Amelie. Amelie gained international attention for its box office success. It was also praised in award ceremonies all over the world. It is currently the highest-grossing French film of the French language on the market in US. The following year, she appeared in British dramas, including Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet Un long dimanche de fiancailles. In the following year, she moved to Hollywood where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
