April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. When she was in the seventh grade, she started playing guitar and piano lessons, sparking her passion for songwriting. In April, when she was 12 years old She composed her debut single called Different. She spent lots of time when she was 14 making songs and practicing the piano. She started writing songs along with her dad at home in NY and LA soon after. April began also to incorporate different topics related to some of her peers who are dealing with issues such as social pressure and teens who commit suicide through the songs"Take" my Hand. Lockhart is a well-known lifestyle blogger and being a partner with brands that are clean and healthy like Ilia and YSL, has cultivated her own fan base. Lockhart was never born with a left hand, and that is why she's the person she is. It's just not the full story. So, Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't shy away from her disabilities, yet it doesn't center around it neither. What message does it convey? The message is: We all have many identities, we're way more diverse than we think that we're. Lockhart is interviewed through video from Nashville. "I do not want it to define my personal life. I'm not looking to be only known as a disability expert. My day-today life is not dependent on it. I lead a normal, everyday life and find myself solutions for problems. Because it's my identity, it's something that's worthy of talking about. Self-acceptance is a long marathon but Lockhart truly inspires me in this regard. Still, she acknowledges going through periods of feeling insecure about her body and feeling uncomfortable in certain clothes which showed her arms. Now, though she dons anything she likes and uploads pictures of herself in these outfits on social media, she is proud of herself. Self-love, she says, is a kind of journey. "I don't think you will ever be there," she said. But, this isn't typical for people who has insecurities. I think that having people around you who really are aware of you and know your feelings is crucial as they'll be the ones who will remind you what you concerned about?
