Laura Linney was one of the most renowned American actors in recent history. Her strong and vulnerable performances have made her a household famous. Her mother was a single, unmarried mother who worked as a nurse. Linney became interested in the theatre during time spent in the summer with her famous father. She studied acting through Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. Within a mere two years after graduation, she launched her Broadway-based career. In the following year, she made her debut in film and television. She has been featured on a number of shows on stage, television and film productions since then. There were many awards she received over the course of her career which included several Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Despite her numerous awards, she still loves the theatre, and has appeared on stage and screen.
