Jenna Fischer's most well-known character is Pam Beesly in the highly popular television show The Office. The actress won 2 SAG Awards and an Emmy for her outstanding performance by an ensemble comedy.
Born in Fort Wayne Indiana, she spent most of her childhood living in St. Louis Missouri. Jenna saw her mother, Anne, perform in performances at church while she was young and was able to instill a love of performing and theater.
After wrapping up The Office, Fischer, a theater-trained actress returned to her home base. She was a part of Josh Hamilton Leslie Bibb Fred Weller in Neil LaBute's Off Broadway production Reasons for Being Happy. In the following play, she was in Steve Martin's newest show Meteor Shower. It was an absurd comedy piece starring Greg Germann, Josh Stamberg and ran for an unprecedented time at the Old Globe Theatre.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer have launched Office Ladies, a podcast on Earwolf in October 2019. The show has been an enormous success, making in the Top Ten worldwide every week as well as receiving over 200 million downloads within its initial two years. The podcast premiered in January of 2021. Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She's the author of The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey) In it, her story of moving between St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming a working actress is narrated. The Office BFF's : Stories of The Office by Two Best Friends that Were There is an account of Angela Kinsey and herself, and their collaboration on The Office.
